Abstract

En comparant la teneur de la Convention pour l’élimination de toute forme de discrimination envers les femmes (CEDEF) avec la plus récente législations pour leurs droits en Amérique latine, l’auteure montre qu’il y a des progrès inégaux selon la nature des droits.

Author Biographies

Ana Laura Rodríguez Gustá, Universidad Nacional de San Martín

Ana Laura Rodríguez Gustá has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame (United States) and a Master’s degree from Renseelaer Polytechnic Institute
(United States). She is a researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET)
in Argentina and a faculty member of the School of Politics and Government at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Her most recent publication is a forthcoming co-authored chapter in an edited collection by Elisabeth J. Friedman, Contesting the Transformation, Gender, Sexuality, and the Latin American Left (Duke University
Press).

Nancy Madera, Universidad Nacional de San Martín

Nancy Madera is a sociologist (Universidad de Buenos Aires) and a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM, Argentina). Her latest work includes a regional perspective on gender policies, gender state institutions in the legislative and executive branch, and the feminist movement and its economic agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her doctoral dissertation discusses the impact of international norms and transnational advocacy networks on legislation regarding violence against women in Latin America.
